In 2009, Firmdale Hotels – the successful London boutique hotel group – opened its first New York property, Crosby Street Hotel. Situated in the heart of SoHo, the luxury boutique hotel is certified GOLD LEED by the US Green Building Council making it one of the very first hotels in New York to do so. Comprised of 86 rooms and suites, every room tells a story. Founder and Creative Director Kit Kemp has infused her personal aesthetic of interior design with a unique contemporary, yet fresh finish seen in the lobby, colorful dining room and each individual room or suite.

Between Prince and Spring Streets, Crosby Street Hotel sits along cobblestone Crosby Street bringing Firmdale’s famous luxurious European style and world-class personal service to SoHo. On the ground floor, The Crosby Bar has a leafy, breezy feel with lots of light throughout the day with high ceilings and a long pewter bar with and tall warehouse-style windows. Guests of the hotel can also take advantage of the sumptuous drawing-room, three distinct green spaces, a well-appointed gym and a luxurious 99 seat state-of-the-art screening room with orange leather Poltrona Frau chairs and walls padded in violet wool.

From Superior Rooms, Luxury Rooms, Two Bedroom Suites to the one-of-a-kind Meadow Suite, each accommodation type features high ceilings and large oversized warehouse style metal windows and varied interior design schemes. Located on the second floor, the special one-off Meadow Suite has a view of its very own lush American woodland meadow, a lush green garden tucked away complete with trees and a lawn. This little green oasis provides guests the perfect place to sit outside, have a coffee, and escape from the busyness of the city and create a little quiet haven of their own. The soft pastel interior of the suite gives a gentle and grounded feel with decorative artwork like the Joe Tilson which echoes the green of the outside among a watercolor piece above the fireplace and framed dress.

The second green space is the Rooftop Kitchen Garden, an urban fruit and vegetable patch managed by the hotel’s head chef Ari Nieminen, which supplies the hotel with fresh produce alongside a Tudor style chicken coop - housing four chickens appropriately named Brooklyn, Manhatten, Bronx and Queens – producing unique pale blue eggs. Last but certainly not least is the Sculpture Courtyard and Lafayette Street Patio with native plantings and a tall organic tree sculpture. With suspended pendant lights which hang from above, ivy covered walls, fruit trees and other trees on the north side, this green oasis is adjacent to The Crosby Bar.

The hotel also invites guests on a guided art walk to view the renowned art collection curated by Kit Kemp, showing famous paintings and sculptures throughout. Artist Lyora Pissarro guides guests through the hotel’s collection as well as leading a walking tour of some of Tribeca and Chelsea’s most prestigious galleries with exclusive visits. Commencing at 10:30am, art walks last approximately two hours and can be followed by lunch in The Crosby Bar.

This fresh and contemporary hotel offers guests special season packages like Sumptuous SoHo, So Downtown or Uptown Downtown. Book the Sumptuous SoHo package which begins with a bottle of Krug and canapés on arrival and then following a day out exploring Manhattan, a candle-lit evening turndown and a chic champagne breakfast the next morning.
