Who can’t stop thinking about the first place they will go on holiday once this is over, both in the UK and further afield? A host of hotels around the world are helping people plan for that first trip (whenever that may be), by offering deals and vouchers which can be spent in the future. It’s also one of the best things that we can do to support the industry at the moment. Here, we round up the best vouchers, and deals, on offer both on home soil and further afield.
United Kingdom, Ireland & Channel Islands
Luxury Scotland
If the Highlands of Scotland sound appealing to those of you stuck in cities at the moment, then look no further than Luxury Scotland, who are offering vouchers (vaid for 12 months) that can be redeemed against stays, experiences or meals at their hotels. We say go for a stay at Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire, a Scottish Baronial country house hotel set in an estate of forests with giant redwoods and formal gardens, with views over the Irish Sea to the Isle of Arran. They also have their own boat for sea safaris. Glenapp Castle is also offering an ‘Early Booker’ deal with a 15 per cent discount across all room types. This brings pricing down to £352.75 for a Garden View Suite in summer 2020, and during winter (from Nov 2020) a rate of £233.75. Both these rates include breakfast.
The Doyle Collection, UK and Ireland
Gift vouchers for The Doyle Collection are available to purchase at a 10 per cent discounted rate until July 2020. The vouchers will be valid for five years after purchase. The collection includes the Martin Brudnizki-designed, Edwin Lutyens-built The Bloomsbury in London and The Westbury, Dublin’s grand dame.
Rooms at The Bloomsbury start from £258 per night; rooms at The Westbury start from £240 (both on a B&B basis)
Andrew Brownsword Hotels, UK
Andrew Brownsword Hotels are extending their existing voucher scheme, meaning they can be used up to 18 months in the future (rather than 12) once it has been purchased. Hotels in the boutique group include the fine-dining establishment Gidleigh Park in Devon’s bucolic Dartmoor National Park, the historic Amberley Castle in West Sussex, and the chic Slaughters Manor House in the Cotswolds. The vouchers can be split across properties – for example a stay at one or spa treatment at another. There are also packages available, such as a two-night stay at Gidleigh Park, including dinner and a National Trust gift card usually worth £127 (the hotel is near Castle Drogo) for £360 per person.
Double rooms at The Slaughters Manor House start from £195, B&B; Double rooms at Amberley Castle start from £195 per night, B&B.
Bespoke Hotels, UK
The Bespoke Hotel group is offering vouchers for their UK properties. Buy vouchers for the group and you can spend them on a stay at, for example, at old smuggler’s inn The Lugger in Cornwall, which has sea views directly from some of the beds, or the Anouska Hempel-designed La Suite West near London’s Hyde Park. Buy now, decide later (vouchers valid for 12 months from purchase).
The group has also just announced a 33 per cent off promotion for bookings of three nights in the first three months after lockdown is lifted. Rooms have to be booked before the end of May and the promotion will be honoured if we stay in lockdown longer and dates have to be rebooked.
The Lugger start from £175 for a Classic Double room on a bed & breakfast basis
ibookedonline.com for vouchers; bespokehotels.com for the promotion
The Beaumont, London
Gift vouchers for The Beaumont in Mayfair can be redeemed against accommodation, dinner in The Colony Grill Room or in the spa (valid for 12 months). This was the first hotel by restaurant group Corbin & King, so expect a destination dinner: the grill-based menu offers 1920s-American classics such as hot dogs, steak and fish. Bedrooms reference the Art Deco history of its fictitious owner, Jimmy Beaumont (think lots of polished walnuts and muted upholstery). Futhermore, for all new voucher purchases, the hotel will donate 20 per cent of it to the NHS.
Rooms from £425, including breakfast
Beaverbrook, Surrey
Country house hotel Beaverbrook, once the home of press baron Lord Beaverbrook, has issued vouchers – valid for guests who need to rearrange stays and new purchases – for up to one year, plus an extra 30 per cent of the value to spend on any experiences on the estate. This could be dining at the Japanese Grill, a treatment at the spa, cooking or mixology classes, private cinema sessions and more.
Rates start from £385 per room per night on a room only basis
Hotel Brooklyn, Manchester
The hottest new opening in Manchester, the Hotel Brooklyn, is offering vouchers which can be redeemed against an overnight stay in one of their design-forward bedrooms, or food and drinks in Runyon’s Restaurant, where you can expect a New York-inspired menu. Vouchers are currently valid for 12 months from purchase.
Club rooms from £130 for a Club room, including breakfast
The Atlantic Hotel, Jersey
The stylish Atlantic Hotel in Jersey is in six acres of grounds overlooking St Ouen’s Bay – making it the perfect spot for a relaxed getaway (the pool, tennis courts and the beach are all added bonuses). The hotel is offering vouchers for both stays and meals (including afternoon tea).
Rooms from £140 per night, including breakfast
Lucknam Park, Wiltshire
Lucknam Park, a long-standing family favourite near Bath, is offering a variety of vouchers (now valid for 18 months) for future guests. Additionally, those spending more than £500 on vouchers will receive a complimentary afternoon tea for two.
Double rooms from £275
Tudor Farmhouse, Gloucestershire
Anyone who has been keenly planning an end of social distancing party should look no further than the Tudor Farmhouse. The Forest of Dean hotel has launched a number of reward schemes to incentivise future bookings. Offers range from a £20 membership of the ‘Dining Club’ (with 10 per cent off all food and drink for a year), to a £60 foraging session, a £100 stay in a room (which usually costs £189), up to the chance to hire the entire property for the night at the heavily reduced rate of £5,000. This bumper-size bash for 40 includes accommodation, a cream tea on arrival, welcome drink, dinner with wine, plus breakfast the next day.

They have also extended the expiry date to 18 months in the future, instead of 12.

International
Welcome Beyond, international
Welcome Beyond handpicks hotels and holiday homes that are architecturally distinctive and have a true love of design. They are now offering gift vouchers to be used at any of their properties. As is customary when you book with the site, you will have the help of one of their consultants, should you need it, plus if you find the hotel cheaper elsewhere, they will also price match (and you’ll often get a gift or upgrade). Start perusing their collection and you won’t leave without wanting to book something – perhaps the gorgeous, modernist Masseria Moroseta in Puglia’s Ostuni, or the Berber-style hideaway, Kasbah Bab Ourika, in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Vouchers are valid for 24 months.
Rooms at Masseria Moroseta from €230 (£202), including breakfast; rooms at Kasbah Bab Ourika from €149 (£131), including breakfast

So you can plan a stay (or dinner, drinks or a spa treatment) at any one of their properties, in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Austin and, by the end of the year, Downtown LA. Villa La Massa, Florence, Italy
Villa La Massa is set in peaceful grounds on the river Arno, just seven kilometres east of Florence. It has the feel of a large country estate rather than a city hotel. This, combined with the fact they are offering vouchers, means it is perhaps the perfect place for a re-introduction to a city break once we are able to travel again. Vouchers on offer include stays in one of the new suites (including the Honeymoon Suite), alongside luxury experiences such as a Ferrari tour through the Tuscan hills or a painting lesson in the property’s beautiful Iris garden. The hotel has extended their 2020 rates for 2021 and all gift vouchers will be valid for 2021, with no change in price.
