Another Easter Sunday in semi-quarantine. While New York has all but transformed itself with sidewalk seating and streeteries throughout the boroughs, takeout is still the safest, and most weather-reliable option to celebrate Easter Sunday. Plan ahead for Sunday, April 4 with these excellent New York City Easter takeout meals.
Concord Hill
Chef Guy Kairi at Williamsburg’s Concord Hill has put together an Easter Brunch kit with everything needed to make a restaurant quality brunch at home. The package includes house baked everything bagels; cage and antibiotic free eggs; house cured smoked King Salmon; Berkshire bacon; mixed greens salad; truffled fingerling potatoes; Balthazar baguette; ground East One Coffee ready to brew; butter, housemade hot sauce, cream cheese and apple jam. Plus, fresh oysters (shucked), shrimp cocktail and andouille sausage can be added as extras. a Build Your Own Mimosa Kit with a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh squeezed orange juice ($35) or Build Your Own Bloody Mary Kit with vodka and house Bloody Mary mix, lemon, lime and olives ($48) are also available. Concord Hill’s brunch kit is $45 for two plus $22 for each additional serving; kit orders must be placed online by 7 pm the night before pickup.
Ocean Prime
An Easter elegance meal to serve up to six people will come with instructions for serving and heating at home. The menu includes Ocean Prime House Salad, a main course choice of pine nut crusted rack of lamb or roasted salmon in shallot herb butter. Sides include roasted garlic fingerling potatoes and lemon asparagus. Sourdough rolls, pretzel bread, and whipped butter are included and a ten layer carrot cake can be added one. All Ocean Prime cocktail and wines can also be ordered for takeout. Orders must be placed here 48 hours in advance of pick up.
Citarella
For a quick and easy small scale catering experience, look no further than upscale grocery store Citarella. A special Spring Lamb Feast is available for 4 or for 8 people, Prices start at $219 for a package that includes baked clams, pizza rustica, stuffed artichokes, stuffed mushrooms, sautéed string beans, roasted carrots, potato purée, pea soup, ricotta rustica, cheesecake and cannoli dip. Homemade Easter bread is also available in shareable or individual sixes.
Upper West Side Italian restaurant Carmine’s is celebrating Easter with specials to enjoy at home with family. The takeout menu includes Carmine’s Stuffed Salmon ($65) filled with spinach, crab meat, scallops, shrimp, celery and red peppers, seasoned with bread crumbs, white wine and lemon juice and a Rack of Lamb ($95) with grilled and roasted vegetables, carrots, red bliss potatoes, red onion, zucchini, fennel, eggplant, yellow squash and portobello mushrooms served with a red wine sauce, black and green olives and sundried tomatoes. Online orders for takeout and delivery can be placed online.
Leonelli Restaurant
The Italian trattoria-inspired restaurant and bakery from critically acclaimed and Michelin-starred chef Jonathan Benno is serving a special Easter menu for two, prix-fixe for $100 or ala cart. Dishes include roasted leg of lamb, grilled artichokes, fingerling potatoes, olives and mint; mixed greens salad with lettuce, radish, goat cheese, croutons amd trebbiano vinaigrette; polenta and Easter bread with brioche dough & lemon zest.
