Nick Offerman Has A New Bottle Of Lagavulin: Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish

Food & Drink

If you’ve ever watched an episode of “Parks & Recreation” then you probably know that Nick Offerman’s character, Ron Swanson, is a connoisseur of scotch whisky, particularly Lagavulin. That love also extends to Offerman himself, who teamed up with the distillery for some advertising spots back in 2014, and eventually his own bottle of whisky, Lagavulin Offerman Edition, back in 2019.

Today Offerman and Lagavulin revealed another addition to the Offerman line: Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish, just in time for your Father’s Day, or you know, your personal shopping.

“The opportunity to collaborate on this truly sublime, smoky giggle-juice renews my gratitude for the simple things in life, like a father’s love, and the good manners he taught me,” Nick Offerman said in a statement.

The new limited-edition bottle is aged 4 months in former Guinness Beer Casks from the Open Gate Brewery in Maryland. The distillery says that it offers a glorious adventure in ‘sweet peat’ by combining the intense peat and charred wood notes of Lagavulin with the roasted coffee, dark chocolate and sweet caramel notes from the Guinness casks.

The shaky received a Double Gold Medal at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, as well as a seal of approval in the form of a firm nod and a handshake from Nick’s dad, Ric Offerman.

The inventive spirit of this collaboration is brought to life in the newest video in the ongoing Lagavulin: My Tales of Whisky series, ‘Nick Offerman’s Father’s Day Part Five.‘ The video details reveals the lengths to which Nick went to create Lagavulin Offerman Edition: Guinness Cask Finish for his dad. Now, Nick, Ric and Lagavulin are proud to announce their new dram of choice after a hard day’s work, which they recommend enjoying neat or on ice – but always over tales of whisky.

You can watch the video here (YouTube age restricted it since it’s about whisky, so it can’t be embedded):

You can check out Offerman’s entire MyTales of Whisky series on Your Tube here.

There have actually been videos of Offerman and his pops every year for the past 4 years that are worth a watch or twenty.

The limited-edition Single Malt has an SRP of $79.99 and will be available in the U.S. wherever fine spirits are sold, as well as via ReserveBar.comDrizly.com, and the Drizly app where shipping and delivery are available.
