Known for its “rock star digs” and one-of-a-kind memorabilia paying homage to some of music’s biggest stars, Hard Rock Hotel’s portfolio of properties are a favorite of many travelers wanting luxury with a hearty side of revelry.

The Hard Rock Hotel Cancun is one of the best places to go to let loose, soak up the sun, and forget about your cares amongst the beautiful backdrop of the Caribbean. During our visit this past January, we checked out the property to see how it combined the allure of a high-end hotel with the ease of an all-inclusive.

The Hard Rock Hotel is home to 601 guestrooms including 24 suites which range from 635 square feet to 2,511 square feet inside the Rock Star Suite Ocean Front two-bedroom. All rooms come with private balconies, whirlpool tubs, Rock Spa amenities, and Nespresso coffee makers.

Some suites also come with personal assistants and the Rock Royalty experience. We stayed in one of these Rock Royalty options, the Ocean View King, a 430-foot space that feels quintessentially Hard Rock.

With the Rock Royalty option, guests are treated to an exclusive check-in complete with lite bites, Champagne and infused water, all behind a private curtain. Plus, you’ll get access to Rock Royalty areas at the pool, lounge and beach. And, while not all rooms offer ocean views, each suite provides a scenic look at the ocean below, no matter which one you choose.

Around the resort, guests have a number of amenities to explore with something for everyone, whether visiting for a special occasion, family trip, or a romantic excursion with your partner. Some of Hard Rock Hotel Cancun’s amenities include a fitness center, spa with salon services, a main pool and children’s pool, Jacuzzi, tennis court, and babysitting services.

Additionally, there are plenty of kid-friendly experiences such as a kid’s club, children’s menus, video games, and the Music Lab where children can live out their rock star dreams. But the real star here is the sprawling infinity-edge pool sitting right up against the ocean.

Beach access is just a few steps away, giving guests the chance to stroll back and forth between the pool and ocean all day long. Of course, what is a Cancun pool without a great swim-up bar? Located on both ends of the lagoon-style pool, the bars feature all the regular heavy-hitters at all-inclusives along with a great list of premium liquors to choose from for an extra cost.

With five restaurants and venues, guests can check out an array of cuisine while there such as the Asian-themed Zen to Ipanema, a Brazilian steakhouse; Ciao, an Italian eatery; a traditional Mexican restaurant, Frida; a buffet-style eatery; and a poolside snack bar.

Some evenings, the hotel puts on a buffet-style fiesta by the pool celebrating its Mexican heritage by showcasing a variety of local foods and artisan goods. It’s a nice touch that gives you a real sense of place while visiting.

The Hard Rock is very much a scene, but in the best way possible. It’s the kind of party you want to be invited to, it’s lively and energetic without feeling too overwhelming and you leave wanting more. The staff can regularly be seen joking with guests and donning large smiles as they mingle with each other.

For those wanting a luxury experience with a lively Cancun vibe, you can’t go wrong with The Hard Rock Hotel Cancun. Plus, you’re only a quick car ride away from downtown Cancun, making it easy to check out the local shops, restaurants, tours and nightlife.
