Safety Shot Says It Can Cut Blood Alcohol In Half… In Half An Hour

Blood alcohol detox functional beverage, Safety Shot (Nasdaq: SHOT), set to launch in Q4 2023, is attracting widespread attention as the first patented drink that promises to reduce blood alcohol content and improve central nervous system activity, motor cortex function and cognition in less than an hour.

Blood alcohol poisoning occurs when alcohol is consumed faster than it can be processed by the liver— due to binge drinking— which can affect breathing, body temperature, heart rate, and gag reflex, and can result in permanent brain damage and death. An average of 2.5 thousand people died from alcohol poisoning in the United States annually between 2017 and 2020.

Created by a doctor using scientifically proven ingredients, Safety Shot says that its product works by enhancing metabolic pathways that break down blood alcohol levels, while creating a protective shield around the stomach wall, thus preventing residual alcohol from being absorbed.

Alcohol-related emergency department visits in the United States ranged between 954,000 and 1.03 million annually between 2018 and 2020.

The Centers for Disease Control estimated that national expenses of $191 billion were attributable to binge drinking due to “lost work productivity, health care expenditures, criminal justice costs, and other expenses” in 2010.

On September 18th, Safety Shot Inc. announced its intention to expand delivery of its product to hospital and emergency settings in an easy-to-administer concentrated form, to help prevent alcohol poisoning and associated deaths.

Safety Shot promises to reduce Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) while aiding in re-hydration and recovery, through “a tailored selection of all natural vitamins and minerals and nootropics” helping to get drinkers out of an intoxicated state and enhance mental clarity, thus potentially helping to reduce emergency room visits and mitigate the negative consequences of binge drinking.

“We anticipate filing an investigational new drug (IND) application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for this alcohol poisoning related indication,” said Dr. Glynn Wilson, Safety Shot’s Chief Scientific Officer.

Since August 11th, when it acquired the functional beverage from GBB Drink Lab Inc., health and wellness company, Jupiter Wellness (which changed its name to Safety Shot Inc. on September 15th) has been waiting with great anticipation for the potentially lifesaving product to begin dominating its revenue streams.

“We are very excited about the opportunities ahead for our Company in the functional beverage industry,” stated Safety Shot’s CEO, Brian John. “We’ve created a multi-channel strategy designed to dominate e-commerce, quickly win retail shelf space, and establish longstanding ties with key distribution and sales partners…”

Sports’ superstars Mike Pouncey (former NFL star with Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers) and Héctor Lombard (Cuban-Australian mixed martial artist, former Olympic judoka and past Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter) have both recently gone on record enthusiastically endorsing the functional drink.

“I’ve tried Safety Shot and felt its effects firsthand,” says Lombard, who was signed as a brand ambassador in August. “Strength, fitness and wellness are my priority and when I do have an alcoholic drink on occasion in social settings, I can now follow it up with Safety Shot to minimize alcohol’s effects on my body and mind.”

The company has also formed partnerships with celebrated Sports Attorney Darren Heitner, Esq. and David Gold and his firm D3M Licensing Group, well-known for its endorsements and brand ambassadorships with public figures such as rapper, Flo Rida.

The beverage, which will debut in a sleek 12-ounce can, selling in 4-packs for $19.99 or individual cans for $4.99, joins the new product category—rapid alcohol detoxification— in the growing global hangover cure products market.

Estimated to exceed 6 billion by 2030, with a projected CAGR of 14.8% between 2023 and 2030, rapid growth in consumer demand for hangover cure products is being driven by an interest in remedies that offer re-hydration, antioxidant benefits, hangover treatment, and neutralization of alcohol by-products— particularly among Generation Z and millennials.

Safety Shot says that its innovation, leadership team, and multi-channel strategy could lead to a Q4 2023 launch that is “the biggest disruption in the drink market” to date.

“Safety Shot represents the epitome of beverage innovation, meticulously crafted from a harmonious blend of nature’s finest elements,” says CEO, Brian John.

“This elixir, infused with a potent concentration of essential vitamins and the purity of crystalline water, offers an unparalleled experience for the modern consumer. Alcohol-free, our formula is a testament to the art of combining health, wellness, and pleasure in a single sip. It’s not merely a drink; it’s a statement of nature’s bounty and scientific prowess, designed for those who seek the best in health and taste.”
