In our fourth installment of the most anticipated property openings around the world, here is a curated list of new openings in Asia and Australia for 2024.

Soneva Secret – Scheduled to open January 2024

Located in the sparkling waters of the Maldives’ Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Soneva Secret will present 14 overwater and island villas, including the Maldives’ first floating villa. As the first resort in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll, each villa features a dedicated team of three, which includes a Barefoot Guardian, Barefoot Assistant and dedicated chef, to ensure every stay is wholly personalized. Including secret hideaways accessible only by boat, guests can partake in signature experiences like swimming with manta rays and sea turtles and yachting adventures and discover by ziplining over the waves for an elevated experience at Out of This World dining tower and observatory.

Banyan Tree Dongguan Songshan Lake  – Scheduled to open January 2024

The secluded lakeside property is situated between lush Lingnan greenery and Songshan Lake in Dongguan, Guangdong. Featuring 141 spacious rooms and suites, 18 villas (some villas contain their own pier and private pool), along with Banyan Tree Spa, the hotel will include an indoor and a stunning lakeside infinity pool and a well-equipped fitness center and yoga room. A sanctuary for the senses, guests may immerse themselves in the Lingnan landscape and culture as well as dine on international cuisine at their two restaurants and lounge.

The Standard Hotel, Melbourne – Scheduled to open in February 2024 

The Standard Hotel will make its Australian debut in the bustling creative Melbourne neighborhood of Fitzroy. With 125 rooms to choose from, guests can experience everything from king rooms to suites that offer stunning city skyline views. The hotel’s atmosphere exudes an edgy, bold and eccentric ambiance, and will feature two distinctive dining options. Bang, an all-day Thai restaurant with a focus on local flavors, and a rooftop Mexican restaurant offering panoramic views and a delightful array of tastes.

Regent Bali Canggu – Scheduled to open Q1 2024

Soon, guests will be able to take on Bali’s famous reef breaks at the Regent Bali Canggu, Regent Hotels & Resorts’ first property in Indonesia. On Canggu Beach, just four miles from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, the hotel will offer 150 suites and villas. Drawing inspiration from contemporary Indonesian fashion and culture mixed with modern aesthetics, the design infuses vibrant colors, rich textiles and intricate craftsmanship. Along with four restaurants and bars, the resort will also feature the world’s first Regent Spa, which includes a hydrotherapy pool and a fitness studio.

Kotiyagala Luxury Villas – Scheduled to open March 2024

Within the heart of the Yala Jungle in Sri Lanka, this new luxury resort allows guests to seek adventure and relax in harmony. The environmentally conscious hotel is spread across a seven-acre estate and will offer 12 villas elevated above the forest floor. Each offers its own private swimming pool and private deck to view the beautiful surroundings. Born out of a deep passion for nature, luxury meets the exotic from immersive safari experiences, complimentary excursions, culinary splendor and their Ayurveda Spa (which offers a unique Storm Room). Rates begin at $1,900 and include full board meals, local alcohol and beverages and one complimentary guided Safari tour to Yala National Park (Zone 1).

OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda – Scheduled to open April 2024

With the concept ‘A Paradise of Night Views and Culinary Delights’, the city-tourism hotel by Hoshino Resorts is set to open in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo. Just a six-minute walk from Gotanda Station, the 188-room hotel will occupy the 14th  through 20th  floors of the Gotanda JP Building. It will include a park-like sky garden, dog garden for guests with pets, an OMO Café located on the 14th floor “OMO Base” as well as an “OMO House,” which includes a full kitchen for group stays. Guests can explore the city within walking distance of the hotel like a local with its Go-KINJO service and speak to OMO Rangers who will be available to guide guests through gourmet tours and various in-house activities around Gotanda.

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok – Scheduled to open in 2024

Amid the skyscrapers of central Bangkok, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok will consist of a 52-suite hotel and 33 Aman Private Residences. Nestled in the eight-acre Nai Lert Park, a pristine tract of jungle preserved since 1915 by the Nai Lert family, the hotel will feature an Aman Integrative Wellness Center housing both a Medical Spa and an Holistic Spa as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center. Stroll the park’s winding pathways for quiet reflection and forest bathing and grab a bite at their Italian restaurant Arva, as well as Omakase and Teppanyaki restaurants, a Cigar club and rooftop Jazz bar.

Six Senses Kyoto – Scheduled to open in2024

Coming to heart of Kyoto within walking distance of the colorful Gion district, the property will mark Six Senses’ first property in Japan. In front of the Myoho-in temple and Tokyokuni-Jinja shrine, the hotel will feature 81 guest rooms surrounding a central garden courtyard showcasing seasonal landscapes. From its biophilic design with seasonal landscapes to its spa and wellness facilities which blend traditional healing practices and Japanese Zen with Six Senses’ innovative wellness experiences, the hotel will also be home to two restaurants and two bars.

Six Senses The Forestias, Bangkok – Scheduled to open in 2024

Nestled within a unique forest community Six Senses The Forestias, Bangkok will offer rooms and suites along with 27 residences, which are set around an enchanting woodland lagoon. The hotel will be home to numerous walking trails, lifestyle store concepts, dining establishments as well as the new Six Senses Place. The social and wellness membership club features signature Six Senses pioneering programming and spaces for socializing, co-working, fitness, wellness and more.

Mount Zero Resort, Grampians – Scheduled to open in late 2024 

Near the famed Grampians Peaks Trail, the property will feature 40 luxury accommodation villas, a restaurant and a café. Containing a relaxing spa and wellness facility with plunge pools, Mount Zero Resort will be the first in the area to cater to the luxury tourism market in the northwestern area of the Grampians National Park. For those looking to unwind in one of Victoria’s unique terrains, this resort will be the model for nature-based tourism in the area.

1 Hotel Melbourne – Scheduled to open Dec 2024

Featuring 277 guest rooms and 114 hotel-branded residences, 1 Hotels & Homes Melbourne is the brand’s first location in Australia. Situated along the Yarra River, the property’s biophilic design places nature at the forefront from its use of recycled materials, allowing guests, visitors, and residents to immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings. Hyde Perth – Scheduled to open in 2024

The first Hyde hotel to open in Australia, Hyde Perth will offer 120 bohemian-chic guest rooms with 18 spacious suites, bringing its signature festival feeling to Perth. The hotel’s dedicated entertainment spaces will come to life with a curated program of music and live performances throughout the day and its design draws inspiration from Western Australia’s rich palette of colors. Located on Pier Street in the heart of the Central business district, the hotel will offer innovative dining concepts with a restaurant, bar and specialty café that opens onto a lush outdoor pool area.
