5 Of The Best Restaurants In London: June 2024

Food & Drink

In a city where going out could be considered an art form in itself, the challenge is not just finding a good drink or meal, but finding those extraordinary places that linger in your memory long after the last sip or bite.

Enter: this month’s list of the best bars and restaurants to visit in London. From revamped fusion concepts to ultra-chic bars nailing experimental twists on classic cocktails, June’s lineup offers something for every taste and occasion.

So, with no further ado, here is your guide to June 2024’s must-visit restaurants and bars in London:

Paradise

First launched by Dom Fernando in 2019, this innovative Sri Lankan restaurant has just relaunched as ‘Paradise 2.0’, boasting a new six-course tasting menu of impeccably innovative takes on traditional dishes. Using seasonal British ingredients, Fernando and head chef Alfie Bahnan serve up Kimbula Banis (with green chilli custard, kithul glaze, date and lime chutney, and Neals Yard Corra Linn) and ‘Spring Lamb’ (lamb saddle, black garlic curry, nettle and coconut, served with southern-style turmeric and saffron dahl, fried long aubergine and jaggery moju, Yorkshire rhubarb lunu-miris, and hand-stretched buttermilk roti) unlike anything you’ve tasted before. Both the Land + Sea and Veg + Plant menus offer incredible value at £59 ($75), as well as an optional natural wine-led drinks pairing at £39 ($50), which changes every week.

UNITY at Sexy Fish

If the glitz and Japanese culinary glamor of Sexy Fish isn’t enough of a pull, the final menu in its cocktail series might do the trick. Following the TRINITY menu in 2023 and SYNERGY in 2022, UNITY offers twelve core cocktail serves; each available in both alcoholic and alcohol-free versions which do much more than simply remove the booze. Curated by Xavier Landais and his talented team, each drink exemplifies Sexy Fish’s commitment to bold, vibrant, and minimalistic culinary experiences. Our favorite? The Barley (Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve, malted barley, miso and orange).

Angler

Perched atop one of London’s busiest business districts, Angler offers a serene escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, whether you’re looking for a special spot for a business lunch or simply indulging in a weekend staycation within the South Place Hotel below. The Michelin-starred restaurant is a favorite among gastronomes, romantics, and power lunchers alike, and its most recent tasting menu is one of exec chef Gary Foulkes’ all-time bests. Highs a real seafood tour de force; seabass tartare, roast Orkney scallop (with hazelnut butter, new season morels and white asparagus), Newlyn Cod (with a truffled cauliflower puree), et al.

Three Sheets Soho

Nestled discreetly in the vibrant streets of Soho, Three Sheets is one of those rare gems that you might be inclined not to praise, just so you can keep it all to yourself. Alas, the Venning brothers’ second London site deserves to be shouted about. A tad snazzier than its Dalston flagship, Three Sheets Soho invites you to indulge in the art of the cocktail, without the pretension one might expect of such a phrase. Both the Dirty Martini (a rightful top seller in the new bar, blending Belvedere, Koseret tea, olive oil, Picpoul, and sea salt) and the Paloma (Volcan tequila, Mexican oregano, Verbena berry, Dhania, and grapefruit soda) are two of Soho’s best.

La Maison Ani

Dubai favorite La Maison Ani has made its grand entrance into London’s prestigious Knightsbridge, bringing all of Chef Izu Ani’s French-Mediterranean delights with it. Named in honor of his family, La Maison Ani is the perfect balance of refined yet relaxed, classic yet contemporary. Luxe breakfast options include Oeufs Neptune (an English breakfast muffin, lobster, poached eggs, and Hollandaise sauce) and healthy treats like vegan mango chia puddings. Come lunch and dinnertime, the menu extends into beloved dishes like Spaghetti with Wagyu meatballs and cherry tomato sauce and Poulet rôti, foie gras et sauce Périgueux. For the ultimate dining experience, take a seat within its sunny terrace overlooking the beautiful Cadogan Gardens, where alfresco dining beckons.
