What’s not to like? Custard? Good! Meat? Good!
For those who may not like their sweet and savory dishes in one concoction, a new take on the infamous trifle Rachel Green cooks up on Friends is available for Friendsgiving celebrators hungry for a cute pop cultural moment.
HelloFresh is celebrating Friends iconic season six Thanksgiving episode with a limited-edition meal kit to recreate a Shepherd’s pie-meets-English Trifle recipe at home. A special custom trifle dish is included and specially designed to keep the savory ingredients strategically separated from the sweet ingredients.
The meal kit includes all the necessary ingredients plus step-by-step recipe cards to create two recipe, a Beef Shepherd’s Pie and a Classic English Trifle. A Friends themed apron is also included, and of course the recipe is designed to serve six people, so don’t invite your high school crush to celebrate.
“Friends is an iconic show, and the Thanksgiving episodes are especially memorable, so recreating Rachel’s English trifle-meets-shepherd’s pie mashup was an exciting culinary challenge for us,” said Michelle Doll Olson, Senior Culinary Development Manager at HelloFresh US. “Drawing inspiration from the original dish, our goal was to capture the humor and fun of the episode while ensuring the recipe is still tasty. Whether you choose to enjoy each recipe on its own or bravely mix them together, this sweet and savory dish is sure to be a hit at your FRIENDSgiving this year!”
