A white tablecloth dinner at White Castle? Once a year, the fast food chain pulls out all the stops for date night.
Since February 14, 1991, White Castle has made itself a unique Valentine’s Day dinner destination, offering reservations for pop-up “Love Castle” dinners at restaurants across the country. This year, over 300 restaurants will offer the brand’s signature one-day-only Valentine’s Day dinner featuring a hostess stand, reserved seating, tableside service, festive decor, and more (think: romantic playlists).
Each year, tens of thousands of people indulge in White Castle for Valentine’s Day, and for many, it’s an annual tradition, worth driving for hours to enjoy a slider with a side of romance (and maybe some mac and cheese nibblers too). There’s no enforced dress code, but date night chic is welcome at the vinyl booths.
“Everyone can enjoy love at White Castle, where we always offer hot and tasty craveable food, great value and memorable moments — without the inflated price tag,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle. “Our Castles go all out to make Valentine’s Day dinner extra special, adding a little extra love to everything we serve. We’re the perfect place for celebrating love with friends, families and significant others.”
How to Make Reservations for White Castle on Valentine’s Day
Unlike many restaurants on February 14, White Castle sticks to its standard menu for the holiday, no upcharges, just deals.
White Castle’s Valentine’s Day menu is offered a la carte, and includes specials like a $5 Sloppy Joe Combo (two Sloppy Joe Sliders, small French fry and small soft drink) or a $6.99 Sloppy Joe Six Pack (any combination of six Sloppy Joe Sliders). Desserts on a stick will also be buy one, get one free for Craver Nation Rewards members, because what’s more romantic than sharing a slice of strawberry cheesecake on a stick?
Reservations for the “Love Castle” are available exclusively on Friday, February 14 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at more than 300 participating White Castles via OpenTable.
White Castle is far from the only fast food brand to offer an elevated dining experience. In 2023, Shake Shack launched the Truffle Table, a fine dining pop-up offering Shake Shake’s truffle-infused menu served on fine china and white tablecloths via prix fixe tasting menu. Reservations sold out almost immediately. In 2019, Taco Bell opened a pop-up luxury resort in Palm Springs, The Bell, and reservations to enjoy chalupas by the pool sold out in under two minutes. In 2024, Taco Bell also opened a pop-up high-end retirement community, a stunt for all ages to enjoy the better parts of life, no work required.
As customers show that they are continuously eager for unique luxury experiences within the fast food space, it will be interesting to see what else beloved chains come up with in 2025.
