Guy Fieri Is Hosting A Free Super Bowl LVII Tailgate

Food & Drink

Guy Fieri will pop up stadium-side this Super Bowl Sunday, hosting the largest free culinary event in football history: the Flavortown tailgate.

Part food festival, part music festival, the 10,000-person Tailgate will feature Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives restaurant pop-ups, local Phoenix greats, tons of bars, tailgate fun, and much more.

“Everybody knows that I love football and I hit the Super Bowl every year. I’ve been to just about every event on every day of game week, from early morning to late night and I’ve always felt that there was something missing,” says Fieri.

“Don’t get me wrong, there are lot of great parties and events but just not exactly bringing all of the pieces together the way I’d throw a tailgate.”

Specifically, Guy’s Flavortown Tailgate Presented by Cash App.

For five full hours leading up to kickoff—“and literally right next to the stadium!”—the tailgate will host culinary greats from more than 20 restaurants, including local legends and some of Fieri’s favorites from Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

Full bars, bottle service and Fieri’s Santo Tequila will also be on hand. “But you know I gotta go big so we’re throwing in superstar musical performances from Diplo and LOCASH!”

So, this probably a little bit larger in scale than the tailgates of Fieri’s past?

“Well, I can’t say that Diplo has ever dj’d one of my tailgates so this is a first!” he laughs. “But seriously, there’s an art to throwing a killer tailgate and a lot of that is about preparation.”

With 10,000 free spots available to fans, it has taken a long time to pull everything together. Fieri and his partners have spent months recruiting chefs, artists, and brand partners alone.

“Keep in mind that an event of this scale has never taken place on Super Bowl Sunday, much less right next to the stadium,” he says. “It takes a huge amount of coordination and logistics.”

Cash App, the event’s key sponsor, will offer 25% off all food and beverage purchases across the tailgate, but they’re not the only ones. “My friends at Sprouts are building a Butcher Shop, Celsius is hooking up all attendees of Flavortown with free energy drinks, there’s Football Toss by H&R block, and so much more!”

VIP tables will also offer Vegas-style bottle service, all you can eat and drink right to your table, and main stage views for Diplo and LOCASH. But they aren’t what Fieri is most excited about.

“Not everyone can afford to go to the game and some of the big tailgates have historically been outta bounds on their pricing so I wanted to create the ultimate Super Bowl experience accessible to all—as in free!

“I can’t wait to be there alongside 10,000 residents of Flavortown and show everyone what I’ve been cookin’ up these last few months with my team.”
