This little charmer near the Baroque centre of Lecce offers fine gourmet food at prices you’d pay in an ordinary trattoria. In a small, simple dining room (six tables, sundry vintage chairs) ‘artisan cook’ Maurizio Raselli and the ever-amiable wait staff will pamper you with meticulously prepared food spotlighting Puglia’s exceptional produce. There are creative reinterpretations of Italian classics like risotto with raw prawns, leek and apple, rabbit taglierini with lime and mint, or vitello tonnato (braised veal cheek with raw tuna). Every dish is brushed with Raselli’s artistry – a perfect balance of colours, textures, aromas and flavours. Wines are from local producers.
