Goldbelly Will Now Deliver Francis Mallmann’s Argentinean Asado Straight To Your Doorstep

Food & Drink

When Covid-19 hit last year, Goldbelly, the e-commerce platform founded by CEO Joe Ariel, became the travel hero of the pandemic. With food from over 800 restaurants delivered straight to customers’ doorsteps, from a three-course shrimp and grits dinner from Commander’s Palace (now helmed by chef Meg Bickford) in New Orleans to Shabbat meal kits from Michael Solomonov’s Zahav in Philadelphia to Italian gelato from Nancy Silverton’s Los Angeles-based Nancy Fancy, diners are able to enjoy food from their favorite restaurants and chefs— from different parts of the United States— while keeping safe at home.

Goldbelly’s latest chef partnership is also their first international one. Legendary Argentinean chef Francis Mallmann is best known for his open-fire cooking— his tale prominently featured on Netflix’s “Chef’s Table.” And now residents in the US can experience Mallmann’s specialty Patagonian barbecue dishes, or asado, in the convenience of their homes. “In Argentina, the true essence of food is sharing, sitting for hours at lunch, celebrating our asado, the national way of cooking meats and veggies,” shares Mallmann. “I am proud to introduce to America through Goldbelly our anthem of taste, romance and happiness at the doorsteps of your home.”

Savory dishes on offering include baked beef empanadas with ljaua sauce ($99 for a pack of 12; free shipping); dry-aged boneless ribeye steak dinner kit ($225, serves four; free shipping), which includes potatoes, chimichurri and salsa criolla; and a traditional Argentinean asado feast ($469, serves 10-12; free shipping), which includes flank steak, skirt steak, ribeye steaks, short ribs, Argentinian chorizo, with sides of seasoned potato wedges, provoleta cheese, ratatouille, and a variety of Argentinian sauces.

For dessert is Mallmann’s Dulce de Leche Panqueques ($79, serves 2 to 3; free shipping), where the traditional Argentinean crepe is rolled with dulce de leche, and garnished with burnt orange and rosemary.

“Chef Mallmann is in a class by himself and we’re unbelievably excited to launch this partnership with our first international chef,” shares Frank Luciano, chief business officer of Goldbelly. “Working directly with Chef Mallmann over the past 12 months to develop and perfect these recipes for shipping has been a tremendous experience.”

Adds Mallmann, “Pull out the chair, just in front the grill, buy some flowers, set the table by inviting your truly loved ones. And then, magically enjoy my new menu from Goldbelly.”
