Shake Shack Launches New Summer Menu

Food & Drink

Shake Shack (SHAK) has added new menu items to its summer lineup including a hot honey chicken sandwich, hot honey fries, hot honey chicken bits and more!

The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich is a honey-glazed crispy chicken breast topped with habanero mayo sauce and shredded lettuce on a toasted potato bun, marrying summertime sweet and spicy flavors.

The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich is a spin on Shake Shack’s beloved Chick’n Shack, starring honey glaze made with shallots, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, and even passion fruit puree to offer a unique sweetness. The habanero mayo sauce is made with pickled fresh habanero peppers and features a spicy, yet floral, flavor profile that balances the sweet honey. Shake Shack also recreated the hot honey flavor as a spice that is dusted onto Shake Shack’s chicken bites and iconic crinkle cut fries.

The Hot Honey menu items are complemented with new cocktail-inspired, alcohol-free Summerades. This is the first time the burger chain has expanded its summer beverage offerings beyond lemonades. The trio of mocktails, which are naturally sweetened, includes Lime Agave Margarita, Piña Punch and Watermelon Mint Mojito. To cool down further, the new summer shakes are a Cherry Pop Shake, inspired by a Cherry Cola Float and topped with popping candy to create a sense of carbonation, and a Triple Chocolate Chip Shake made with milk, dark and semi-sweet Peruvian chocolate chips.

The menu will be available at Shake Shack locations nationwide from July 1 through October 4.

“We’re constantly looking at how to elevate the classics. We introduced our classic Chick’n Shack back in 2016, and it quickly became a fan favorite! Since day one, our real, white-meat chicken is fresh, never frozen, hand-breaded and cooked to order every time with no antibiotics ever,” said Mark Rosati, Culinary Director at Shake Shack. “The bold flavors and textures of our Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich are sweet, spicy, sticky, crispy and perfectly balanced between the honey glaze and habanero mayo sauce – and is so reminiscent of summertime. Heat is something that we love to experiment with. For us, it’s not just about high heat levels, but craveable, intriguing flavors that’ll make guests keep coming back for more.”
